Chapter 2 - Getting Started
Preparing the System
Before you start using the system, y ou need the f ollowing items:
•
SATA hard driv e
•
AC power adapter
•
CD-ROM drive (for installing softw are/drivers)
• Memory
module
Installing Devices
The following are devices that can be installed in the system.

•
Mini PCIe card
Configuring the BIOS
To get y ou started, y ou ma y need to change configur ations such as the date, time and the
type of hard disk driv e.

Power-on the system.
2.
After the memory test, the message "Press DEL to run setup" will appear on the screen.
Press the Delete k ey to enter the AMI BIOS setup utilit y.
Installing the Operating System
Most operating system softw are are pro vided in a CD theref ore y ou need to install a CD-ROM
drive in order to use the CD .
Make sure a 2.5" S ATA drive is already installed.

Refer to the f ollowing chapters f or information on connecting a CD-ROM driv e and install-
ing a S ATA drive.

Refer to y our operating system manual f or instructions on installing the oper ating system.
Installing the Drivers
The system package includes a CD disk. The CD includes driv ers that must be installed to pro-
vide the best system perf ormance. Refer to the Supported Softw are chapter f or instructions on
installing the driv ers.
