Assembly of turbocharger and muffler. (Figure 1)
(1) Assembly the tube(90)and the turbo-
charger.

Clamp bolt (91):
(2) Insert the Joint(51) into the tube(90).
x= 4 - 6 mm (Figure 2)

(3) Apply thermosetting sealant(b) (Holts
"FIREGUM" or equivalent) to the Joint(51)
then insert the muffler(50) into it.
q Application dimensions (c)= 43 mm (Fig-
ure 3)
(4) Adjust the muffler(50) position on the muf-
f l e r b r a c k e t , t h e n t i g h t e n t h e U -
bolts(48),(49) with fitting nuts.

U-bolt(48),(49):
9.8 - 14.7 Nm {1.0 - 1.5 kgm}
(5) Fix the Joint(51) by tightening the U-
clamp(47)with fitting nuts.

U- clamp(47):
14.7 - 44.1 Nm {1.5 - 4.5 kgm}
(6) Fix the bracket(92) by tightening the
bolt(93), (94).
(7) Tighten clamp(46) with fitting nuts.
q The installation angle and position of the
clamp(46).

(viewed from front)then place it so that its
edge on turbo side is (a)mm from inlet of
the Joint(51)
q Installation dimensions(a)= 157 mm
Install clamp mounting bolt according to

the following procedure.

Clamp mounting bolt:
1st time: 39.2 - 49 Nm {4 - 5 kgm}
2nd time: 68.6 - 122.5 Nm {7 -12.5 kgm}

a Tighten the clamp to the following torque.

Clamp: 7 ± 1.1 Nm {0.7 ± 0.1 kgm}

a Tighten the clamp according to the following
procedure.
1) Set punch mark (a) as shown in the figure
and set bridge (83) under band (84).
2) Tighten the bolt so that dimension (b) will
be 8 – 10 mm.
3) Tighten the bolt to 16 – 17 Nm {1.6 – 1.7
kgm}.
