Transferring encoder information using OA SERVCOUP

For SINAMICS, the OA application SERVCOUP (SERVO COUPLING) is an expansion for
the SERVO drive object. The OA application allows motors to be operated which, as a result
of the size and/or type of construction, cannot be operated on an individual SINAMICS
power unit. These motors are split up into several drive objects, which can then be operated
at one Motor Module. To operate this drive group, only one encoder is necessary, as the OA
application SERVCOUP implements a digital encoder splitter in the Control Unit - and with
the encoder values from a master drive object, up to 5 additional drive objects without
encoder can be supplied with setpoints and encoder actual values. When compared to
hardware-based solutions, advantages are obtained as a result of the wiring costs,
ruggedness and the number of hardware components required.
System integration
The application can be used for servo control in conjunction with SINAMICS S120
(CU320-2), SINUMERIK Integrated/NX or SIMOTION Integrated/CX.
Supported versions
The OA application SERVCOUP is supported on the following SINAMICS firmware releases:
● from 4.7 (corresponds to SINUMERIK V4.7)
● from 4.6 HF13 (no SINUMERIK version available)
● from 4.5 HF21 (corresponds to SINUMERIK V4.5 SP3)
Supported commissioning tools
● STARTER 4.3 SP2 or higher
● Create MyConfig 4.6 or higher

A license key is required for the OA application.
