5. Choose the Direct Connection (Via USB cable) radio button and click Connect.

Status Button

The Status button is the first utility button that can be selected which has six (6) section tabs
available for the selected device and utility.

Unit Summary Tab

Note: Example based on a UC400 configured for Space Temperature Control.
The Tracer TU service tool will launch and display the status of the Tracer UC400 controller.
Connected To:
The Connected To: field describes the type of device being communicated to via Tracer TU service
tool. In addition, it indicates the general program that has been placed in controller and whether
communication is up. The two states for communication are Configured On Line or Not
Communicating.

• The left-hand side contains the device tree listing all of the devices on the link. (To access
another controller on the link, click on the device on the tree).
• The right-hand side of the screen contains four (4) buttons for the Status, Data Logs (Trends),
Controller Settings, and Equipment. These are known as unitary buttons that are the types
of functions.
• There are tabs across the top of the screen that change depending upon the unitary button
being viewed.
• The body of the tab contains fields that are logically grouped.
