2.2 General safety notes
The manuals for the system and parts thereof as well as the maintenance
records and handover certificates must be kept available near the system.
Isolate the system! Make sure that cables and electrical
components are disconnected from the power supply during work.
WARNING! Live parts
The control unit's housing may only be opened by a qualified
electrician.
▶ Work on the control unit is restricted to:
▶ switching on the contactor and adjusting the motor protection switch
▶ replacing fuses (F1) or batteries
▶ connection in accordance with the installation instructions and circuit
diagram.
All other work may only be carried out by KESSEL Customer Services or a
service partner of KESSEL AG.

Beware when handling electrostatic components
Touch the top-hat rail before touching the components
on the PCB. This measure ensures that any electrostatic charges
are balanced by you „connecting your body to ground".
2.3 Taking ATEX/explosion protection into account
The EX-symbol identifies components and products that satisfy the
ATEX requirement (ATEX Guideline 2014/34/EU).
Only use ATEX system(s) and explosion-proof components in
potentially explosive zones. Separate safety measures have to be
taken for potentially explosive zones:
▶ Carry out an ATEX risk assessment according to the valid EU Directive and
define EX zones.
▶ Check whether the pump(s) and remaining system components (incl.
accessories) are designed for ATEX use and satisfy the requirements of the
defined zone.
▶ Check whether the control unit is suitable for operation together with the
pumps used and is designed as an ATEX variant.
If in doubt, consult the standards certificate and technical specifications (
Chap. "2.5.1 Additional information on ATEX design").
