5 .2 .7 Set the sensor

1 . Set the sensor switch to ON . Three lights are
turned on: the sensor indicator light next to the
switch and two lights on the sensor .
2 . Turn the sensor knob to center the sensor over
the drive link (see section 3 .7, "Chain
overview"):
• clockwise, to move the sensor to the left, or
• counter-clockwise, to move the sensor to
the right .
3 . Set the chain pusher switch to ON . The chain
pusher arm now advances the chain forward .

4 . Visually make sure that the left sensor finger is
pushed in by left cutters and that the right
sensor finger is pushed in by right cutters .
5 . Also, visually make sure that the sensor fingers
are released when the cutters move forward
and no longer push the fingers in . If the fingers
are not released, see section 7 .3, "Issues" .
Note: When a sensor finger is pushed in, the
corresponding light is turned off . When the finger
is released, the light turns on again .
6 . Set the chain pusher switch to OFF when the
grinding head is in its uppermost position and
the chain lock is not engaged .
7 . Repeat steps 2-6 until both sensor fingers are
pushed in by the corresponding cutter .
