Keys, doors and windows
Passive entry system: to open the tail‐
gate push the button under the tail‐
gate molding. All doors will be un‐
locked.
Central locking buttons in the
passenger compartment
Locks or unlocks all doors, the load
compartment and fuel filler flap from
the passenger compartment.
Press the e button to lock.
Press the c button to unlock.
Automatic locking after driving
on
This security feature can be config‐
ured to automatically lock all doors,
load compartment and fuel filler flap
as soon after driving on and a certain
speed is exceeded.
In standstill after driving, the vehicle
will be unlocked automatically as
soon as the ignition is switched off.
Activation or deactivation of auto‐
matic locking can be set in the menu
Settings in the Graphic Information
Display (GID) or Vehicle in the Color
Information Display (CID). Vehicle

Fault in remote control system
or passive entry system
If either the remote control fails or the
battery of the Remote Control is
weak, the driver's door can be locked
or unlocked with the mechanical key

may display No Remote Detected or
Replace Battery in Remote Key when
you try to start the vehicle. Starting
the engine 3 148.
The following instructions are inten‐
ded for emergencies only. Replace
the remote control battery as soon as
possible 3 19.
