When the ignition is switched on, the
control indicator illuminates for
approx. 4 seconds. If it does not illu‐
minate, does not go out after
4 seconds, or illuminates while driv‐
ing, there is a fault in the airbag sys‐
tem. Seek the assistance of a work‐
shop. The airbags and belt preten‐
sioners may fail to trigger in the event
of an accident.
Deployment of the belt pretensioners
or airbags is indicated by continuous
illumination of v.
9 Warning
Have the cause of the fault reme‐
died immediately by a workshop.

Passenger airbag status indicators in
the roof console.
The vehicle has a passenger sensing
system 3 60.
When the vehicle is started, the pas‐
senger airbag status indicator will il‐
luminate the symbols on and off for
several seconds as a system check.
If the on symbol is lit on the passenger
airbag status indicator, it means that
the right front passenger frontal air‐
bag is enabled (may inflate).
If the off symbol is lit on the airbag
status indicator, it means that the pas‐
senger sensing system has turned off
the right front passenger frontal air‐
bag.
If, after several seconds, both status
indicator lights remain on, or if there
are no lights at all, there may be
a problem with the lights or the pas‐
senger sensing system. Consult your
dealer for service.

If the airbag indicator light v ever
comes on and stays on, it means
that something may be wrong with
the airbag system. To help avoid
injury to yourself or others, have
the vehicle serviced right away.

running
Stop, switch off engine. Battery is not
charging. Engine cooling may be in‐
terrupted. The brake servo unit may
stop working. Seek the assistance of
a workshop.
