Theater lighting
A softlight illumination is incorporated
into the interior lighting and in the in‐
terior door handles. It comes on when
the headlamps are switched on. De‐
pending on the version, softlights are
also incorporated in the front footwell
and in the door pockets.
Battery Power Protection
Battery State of Charge
Function
This function guarantees longest bat‐
tery life via a generator with control‐
lable power output and optimized
power distribution.
To prevent discharge of the battery
when driving, the following systems
are reduced automatically in two
stages and finally switched off:
■ Heated rear window and mirrors
■ Heated seats
■ Fan
In the second stage, a message will
be displayed in the Driver Information
Center confirming the activation of
the battery discharge protection.
Switching Off Electric Lights
To prevent discharge of the battery
when the ignition is switched off,
some interior lamps are switched off
automatically after a period of time.
