22 Keys, doors and windows
This number must be quoted when
ordering replacement remote control
unit as it is a component of the immo‐
bilizer system.
Central locking system
Unlocks and locks doors, load com‐
partment and fuel filler flap.
A pull on an interior door handle un‐
locks the respective door. Pulling the
handle once more opens the door.
There are two ways to operate the
central locking system:
■ Remote control system
■ Passive entry system
Notice
In the event of an accident in which
airbags or belt pretensioners are de‐
ployed, the vehicle is automatically
unlocked.
Remote control system
Direct the remote control unit to the
vehicle.
Unlocking
Press button c to unlock all doors,
load compartment and fuel filler flap,
Locking
Close doors, load compartment and
fuel filler flap.
Press button e.
If the driver's door is not closed prop‐
erly, the central locking function will
not work.
Passive entry system
The remote control must be outside
the vehicle, within a range of approx‐
imately 3 ft.
