Activation
When looking for a parking slot, the
system has to be activated by press‐
ing the ( button.
The system only operates at a speed
up to 19 mph.
The maximum allowed parallel dis‐
tance between the vehicle and a row
of parking cars is 6 ft.
Functionality
When the vehicle passes a row of
cars and the system is activated, the
advanced parking aid system is look‐
ing for a suitable parking slot. When
a suitable slot is detected, a visual
feedback and acoustic signals are
given on the Driver Information Cen‐
ter (DIC).
The suggestion of the system is ac‐
cepted, when the vehicle is stopped
by the driver within 33 ft after the mes‐
sage is given. The system calculates
the optimal route into the parking slot.
Then it maneuvers the driver into the
slot by giving detailed instructions.
