For a full description of OnStar® serv‐
ices and system limitations, see the
OnStar® Owner's Guide.
OnStar® service is subject to the On‐
Star terms and conditions included in
the OnStar® Subscriber Information.
OnStar® service cannot work unless
the vehicle is in a place where On‐
Star® has an agreement with a wire‐
less service provider for service in
that area. OnStar® service also can‐
not work unless the vehicle is in
a place where the wireless service
provider OnStar® has hired for that
area has coverage, network capacity
and reception when the service is
needed, and technology that is com‐
patible with the OnStar® service. Not
all services are available every
where, particularly in remote or en‐
closed areas, or at all times.
The OnStar® system can record and
transmit vehicle information. This in‐
formation is automatically sent to an
OnStar® call center when u is
pressed, t is pressed, or if the air‐
bags or ACR system deploy. This in‐
formation usually includes the vehi‐
cle's GPS location and, in the event of
a crash, additional information re‐
garding the crash that the vehicle was
involved in (e.g. the direction from
which the vehicle was hit). When the
virtual advisor feature of OnStar®
hands-free calling is used, the vehicle
also sends OnStar® the vehicle's
GPS location so they can provide
services where it is located.
Location information about the vehi‐
cle is only available if the GPS satel‐
lite signals are unobstructed and
available.
The vehicle must have a working
electrical system, including adequate
battery power, for the OnStar® equip‐
ment to operate. There are other
problems OnStar® cannot control
that may prevent OnStar® from pro‐
viding OnStar® service at any partic‐
ular time or place. Some examples
are damage to important parts of the
vehicle in a crash, hills, tall buildings,
tunnels, weather or wireless phone
network congestion.
OnStar® Steering Wheel
Controls
This vehicle may have a Talk/Mute
button that can be used to interact
with OnStar® hands-free calling.
On some vehicles, the mute button
can be used to dial numbers into
voice mail systems, or to dial phone
extensions. See the OnStar® Own‐
er's Guide for more information.
Your Responsibility
Increase the volume of the radio if the
OnStar® advisor cannot be heard.
If the light next to the OnStar® buttons
is red, the system may not be func‐
tioning properly. Press u and re‐
quest a vehicle diagnostic. If the light
appears clear (no light is appearing),
your OnStar® subscription has ex‐
pired and all services have been de‐
activated.
Press u to confirm that the OnStar®
equipment is active.
