9.1.2 Function selection

Once the user touches the screen, the machine presents him with a range of options and
services that are available for purchase; the user can choose among: "Wash my car", "Buy
tokens/coins" (according to the installed hoppers), "Buy card/key" (according to the installed
dispensers), "Charge card/key" (according to the installed dispensers), as shown in Figure 35
below.

9.1.3 Failure or malfunction of a device

Should any failure or breakdown occur in a device, or should any particular condition
preventing normal machine operation arise (like in case the token dispenser should get
empty, etc ...), the function selection screen will change accordingly. In the example shown in
Figure 36 below, tokens cannot be purchased due to a problem with the token dispenser; as
a consequence, the relevant program will be temporarily unavailable until the fault has been
fully resolved. While the malfunction persists, therefore, a special icon will be displayed next
to the relevant option on the machine screen until the fault has been fully resolved.
