16.6.2 System Sensor/ M-IAS Multi-sensor & Laser detectors
The System Sensor / Morley-IAS Multi-sensor and laser detectors are supported in panel software
version 824 onwards and loop driver software version 9 onwards.
There are 6 modes of operation (alarm levels) available on the multi-sensor and 9 on the laser
detector, as in the tables below.

Where the control panel sensitivity day mode is used, the multi-sensor/laser mode can be modified
according to the specific site requirements. This allows a different mode of operation at different times
of the day (see 'Sensitivity Mode' in Section 11.3).
When night mode is invoked, the multi-sensor mode is fixed at alarm level 4, with pre-alarm fixed at
alarm level 3. The laser mode is fixed at alarm level 5 and pre-alarm level 4.
To program the day mode operation for each multi-sensor/laser device, select 'edit thresholds' from
the edit device menu. Set the required threshold level for both fire and pre-alarm that corresponds to
the desired mode of operation (refer to tables above).
Note that it is important to adhere strictly to the suggested threshold settings for each
mode – these are chosen to allow for various system / device tolerances.
It is also important that after any Multi-Sensor device replacement, an Auto Learn must be performed.
This has the effect of re-initialising the device (enabling the heat only alarm level)
