Problem
Shortening will not
drain from vat
(frypot).
Timer fails to run.
Buzzer continues to
buzz.
Buzzer will not buzz.
Timer will not reset.

Gasket coming out of
lid liner.

Cause
Improper or bad shortening.
Improper filtering.
Improper rinsing after clean-
ing the fryer.
Drain valve clogged with
crumbs.
Drain valve will not open by
turning handle.

No power input.
Timer set at zero.
Faulty microswitch.
Possible faulty buzzer.
Timer indicator not returning
to zero.
Faulty timer.
Faulty lamp.

Crumbs under gasket.
Correction
Use recommended shortening.
Refer to the procedure covering fil-
tering the shortening.
Clean and neutralize the vat (frypot);
rinse with vinegar to remove alkaline
then rinse with hot water, and dry vat
(frypot).
Open valve - force cleaning brush
through drain opening.
Replace cotter pins in valve
coupling.
Check timer switch.
Check timer motor.
Set timer indicator to a setting other
than zero.
Check and replace faulty micro-
switch per
