Symptom
Possible Cause
If you are not at the RMC prompt, a system reset or initialization disconnects
the modem.
SRM clears modem
connections on power-up.
RMC does not answer when the modem is called.
Modem cables may be
incorrectly installed.
RMC remote access is
disabled.
RMC does not have a valid
password set.
On power-up, the RMC defers
initializing the modem for 30
seconds to allow the modem to
complete its internal diagnos-
tics and initializations.
Modem may have had power
cycled since last being initial-
ized or modem is not set up
correctly.
Suggested Solution
Reconnect the modem.
See Section 4.11.
Check modem phone lines
and connections.
Enter enable remote
access command from
RMC.
Enter set password and
enable remote commands
from the RMC.
Wait 30 seconds after
powering up the system
and the RMC before
attempting to dial in.
Enter enable remote
command from the RMC
console.
