7. Upgrade to AP 2.2.
a. Log in as superuser.
b. If necessary, re-insert the Supplement CD into the CD-ROM drive.
The volume manager takes a few seconds to mount the CD.
c. Install the required AP 2.2 packages:
# cd /cdrom/cdrom0/Product
# pkgadd -d . SUNWapdv SUNWapr SUNWapu SUNWapdoc
d. Run the following script to restore the original AP configuration:
Caution – Be sure to read "Upgrading AP and Solaris Software Simultaneously" on
page 129 before performing the following command.
# /cdrom/cdrom0/Tools/ap_upgrade_finish
...
ap_upgrade_finish has completed
e. If there are any file systems shown in /etc/vfstab that are still configured as
physical devices, and if you wish to build those file systems on AP
metadevices, edit /etc/vfstab and reconfigure those file systems as AP
metadevices.
Caution – You must be a knowledgeable system administrator to edit
/etc/vfstab. If you do not configure your file systems properly in /etc/vfstab,
it is possible that you will loose data the next time you boot the server.
f. Reboot.
8. Install and configure Solstice DiskSuite 4.2, by following steps 10 through 16 in
the procedure "How to Convert to DiskSuite 4.2 on SPARC Systems Running
DiskSuite 4.0 or 4.1" in the Solstice DiskSuite 4.2 Installation and Product Notes
(October 19, 1998).
Caution – If your boot disk is mirrored, make sure you specify the upgraded disk
as the primary mirror.
