For the Sun™ hardware listed in , the Solaris™ 7 11/99 release requires no

special installation or upgrade instructions. If you plan to perform an automatic
installation of the Solaris 7 11/99 operating environment on your Sun hardware,
refer to the Solaris 7 11/99 (SPARC Platform Edition) Installation Library or the Solaris
Advanced Installation Guide for all your installation needs.

Manual Installation of Solaris Software

If you are installing the Solaris 7 11/99 operating environment using the manual (or
interactive) method, you may need to add some software packages and clusters. This
section identifies platform-specific installation needs and lists the required software
packages and clusters. The manual installation method is described in the "Planning
Your Installation" module of the Solaris 7 11/99 (SPARC Platform Edition) Installation
