    Step 2 - Connect sense wires to batteries The Mid-point Monitoring sense wires must have short-circuit protection fitted close to the battery terminals. Use the Battery Mid-point Monitoring kits from Eaton (see Spare Parts on page 72) or equivalent. Connect a Mid-point Monitoring sense wire to the middle interconnecting link on each string of batteries (see following diagram).
