User Interface Overlay - Maytag MXR65 Service Manual

Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
1. To replace the vinyl user interface, open the
control panel. (See page 3-2)
2. Disconnect the ribbon connector from the
display board.

3. Peel the original overlay off the front of
control panel.

4. Remove the clear film from the inside of the
display window.
5. Peel the backing paper off the new overlay
to expose the adhesive.
6. Align the overlay with the recessed area of
the control panel. Center it precisely and
press it into position.
7. Smooth out the surface of the overlay by
rubbing across the entire surface.
TeCH TiP: If the display board is being
replaced, it comes with a clear film overlay
on the lens, to avoid scratches. This film
must be removed before installation to
avoid a double layer of film over the display
since the user interface overlay has a clear
covered area for the display.
