The supplemental portion of a UPC or EAN label is a weak
symbology and can be missed by the scanner for several reasons.
In situations where supplementals are known to be present,

supplemental is found. When using a laser scanner, performance
degradation is not noticeable.
You can configure the following options for EAN-13:
• Enable
• Send leading digit
• Send check digit
• Bookland EAN enabled
