When communicating with an MG Authorised Repairer,
always quote the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). If

to provide the identification numbers of these assemblies.
Locations of Vehicle Identification Markings
Vehicle Identification Number
• Stamped on the instrument panel visible through the
bottom left hand corner of the windscreen;
• On the vehicle identification plate;
• Stamped on the floor under the front passenger seat;
• Stamped above the inner side of the tailgate visible by
opening the tailgate.
Note: The vehicle diagnostic socket is located above
the accelerator pedal. The VIN information can be
accessed using the SAIC Diagnostic Scan Tool.
Engine Number
Stamped on the right front side of the engine block (view
from the front end of the vehicle).
Transmission Number
Stamped on the upper face of the transmission housing
