Backup Starting Procedure
When the car is in a strong radio signals interference area,
the smart key low battery occurs or the keyless start
function fails, if you try to press ENGINE START/STOP
button to start the car, the driver message centre may
display "Smart Key Not Found". At this time, the car cannot
be started through the push-button starting procedure.
Please start the vehicle as follows:
Starting & Driving
1 Please place the remote key on the bottom of front
centre console cup holder (the ring-free end close to
the right cup holder wall) with the button upward
(as shown in figure).
2 Depress the brake pedal, and press ENGINE
START/STOP button to start the engine.
After the battery is replaced and the car leaves the
interference area, the keyless starting procedure can still
not be used normally. Seek an MG Authorised Repairer.
Application scope of backup starting procedure:
• The remote key battery is run out and cannot be
replaced in time.
• When the car is disturbed by strong signals, use the
backup starting procedure to drive the car leave this
interference area, then the passive starting system
restores normal function.
