No successful authentication could be achieved between the LTU and the NTU
modem.
Make sure that all SHDSL ports on the respective SDSL-NT10ETH modem are
connected with the same LTU.
Because the SDSL-NT10ETH modem is connected via a number of parallel
SHDSL interfaces, there is a possibility of misconnection. An NTU will only
accept configuration commands from a single LTU.
As a means to ensure that an NTU is communicating with a single LTU over
all its interfaces, the LTU sends a "signature" as part of the startup procedure,
after an attached SDSL-NT10ETH modem is detected.
The signature is sent in a special EOC-ext. message before any configuration
data are transmitted. In case the authentication is unsuccessful (for example, if
an NTU is connected with multiple LTUs; cf.
(p. 1-163) – wiring error type III), then the NTU returns an error code (0xB1)
to the LTU. If, after 3 retries, the authentication still remains unsuccessful,
