5 Verification and Calibration
Step 2. Power-on the DMM and allow it to warm-up, as required.
Step 3. Plug the connector into the Cal port on the rear of the BT2152A to be calibrated.

Enter Calibration Mode

The following SCPI command starts the calibration. It aborts any other instrument process that is
running and prepares the instrument for reference calibration.
Send
CAL:STAR
The front panel Test indicator flashes orange when calibration is running. The Test indicator turns off
when calibration is complete.

Voltage Calibration

Step 1. Put the DMM in voltage measurement mode in AUTO range, with a minimum of 100 PLC
averaging, auto input impedance (not 10M).
Step 2. Start the voltage calibration. Send
Step 3. Trigger a voltage measurement on the DMM. Measure the voltage between V and Com.
Cal Step 1
Begins voltage calibration
Step 4. Send the valid measurement to the instrument. Send
Step 5. Start the voltage offset calibration. Send
Step 6. Trigger a voltage measurement on the DMM. Measure the voltage between V and Com.
Cal Step 2
Begins voltage offset calibration
Step 7. Send the valid measurement to the instrument. Send
If CAL:RES? returns a value other than zero (0), an error has occurred. Send SYST:ERR? to
return the error. Check the calibration setup; then re-run the step.

Current Calibration

Step 1. Put the DMM in current measurement mode on the 10 mA range with a minimum of 100 PLC
averaging. Make sure the DMM's current input terminal is connected to cal port pin 3 as shown in the
previous figure.
Step 2. Start the 10 mA current calibration. Send
Step 3. Trigger a current measurement on the DMM. Measure the current between Com and I.
