The data of the previous Tables (Seed and Fertilizer) can vary due to several factors.
We advise therefore to observe with attention the following procedures:
Practical Test of Distribution of Seed and Fertilizer
The most indicated way to check both seed and fertilizer rates is in the own
field where the seeding will take place. Follow these steps:
- Use whenever is possible the same tractor and Operator to make the seeding.
- Maintain the same inflation pressure in both seeder tires, (30 PSI).
- Mark off the distance for test. Example of the fertilizer Table, 50 linear meters
- Fill the seeder hoppers at least to the half of the capacity.
- Operate the seeder some meters to fill the feed cups, before entering in the
demarcation area.
- Place the collection bags in the seed and fertilizer dispensers. (Use plastic
bags).
- Move the tractor in the length of the demarcation, using the same speed of
that one used in the whole seeding. (Average Speed = 8 km/h).
- Weigh the fertilizer and seed contained in the bags, obtain the average of all
tests and compare with the 3rd column of the tables (Grams in 50 meters per
row). If necessary, remake the test changing the adjustments.
- After getting the required amount and still in the field, move the tractor in the
same speed however, leave the fertilizer and the seed to reach the soil, for
better verifying the distribution uniformity.
- The soybean distribution checking may be made by number of seeds per
linear meter, adjusting through the above mentioned settings.
Attention: - THE WORKING SPEED VARIATION AFFECTS THE UNIFORM SEED
DISTRIBUTION.
- WHEN THERE IS A CHANGE IN THE LOT OF SEEDS, AS WELL AS IN THE
MANUFACTURER OF THE FERTILIZER, EVERYTHING MUST BE CHECKED
AGAIN.
- IT IS IMPORTANT TO VERIFY ALL ADJUSTMENTS AGAIN AFTER THE FIRST
WORKING DAY.
- NEVER MODIFY THE ADJUSTMENTS WITH THE SEEDER IN MOVEMENT.
