    SECTION 2: SET-UP & USE 1. DETERMINE SET-UP LOCATION The Multimike is generally located near the amplifier. This minimizes the length of cable runs, reducing cost and labor and minimizing the possibility of unwanted EMI noise in the system. If cable runs longer than 12 feet are required, we recommend using the balanced audio output with balanced audio cable.

    2C. OPTIONAL CONNECTION TO LIGHTSPEED CAT 885 AMPLIFIER If you are connecting into a new or existing Lightspeed Cat 885 amplifier, you can use Cat 5 cabling to integrate the two components (a 2’ cable is included with the system). This connection will send the audio from Multimike to the Cat 885 as well as provide power for the Multimike (no need for an additional AC power connection).

    4. AUDIO INTEGRATION Various multimedia audio sources would typically be connected directly into the audio amplifier to then be played through the speakers. However, there is an additional 3.5mm audio input directly on the Multimike. That audio is passed through the Multimike and back out to the amplifier.
  • Page 15: Charging The Flexmike

    Before use, the Flexmike should be charged. It will take 8-9 hours for the Flexmike to obtain a full charge. A fully charged Flexmike will last for up to 8 hours of use. If microphones are used daily, they should be charged each night.

    Flexmikes, 5 Sharemikes or a combination of Flexmikes and Sharemikes for a total of 5. Once the Flexmike is charged, follow these steps to set it up for use. 1. Remove the Flexmike from the cradle charger and put it on by connecting the magnetic clasps behind your neck.

    7. USING FLEXMIKE AS WIRELESS AUDIO LINK The Flexmike includes a 3.5mm audio input jack to connect to an audio source like a laptop or MP3 player. The Flexmike will transmit the audio signal to be played through the system.

    SHAREMIKE: INITIAL SET-UP Up to 5 microphones can be used with a Multimike. This can consist of 5 Flexmikes, 5 Sharemikes or a combination of Flexmikes and Sharemikes for a total of 5. 1. Ensure the Multimike is on. The blue light on the front of the Multimike will glow.

    The microphone will default to the Mute position, the Mute status will turn to red. • If using a Flexmike with your system, place the Flexmike around your neck. • Press the power/mute button on the microphone. The status will turn blue, indicating the microphone is active and ready to use.

    1. Warranty on Access microphones is FIVE (5) YEARS. 2. Warranty on Lightspeed NiMH rechargeable batteries is one (1) year. 3. A prepaid shipping label will be provided by Lightspeed for warranty repairs within the United States.
