Chapter 2 Preparations
1.16.2 Removal
Remove a hard disk drive in the following procedure.
1.
See Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2.
Push the lever to unlock and open the
handle.
3.
Hold the handle and tray firmly and pull
the hard disk drive out. Do not pull the
handle only.
4.
Fill the open slot with the dummy tray, if
necessary.
5.
Turn on the server, run the BIOS Setup Utility, and then specify the boot order from the Boot menu. For
details about the Boot menu, see Chapter 2 (1.2.5 Boot) in "Maintenance Guide".
6.
See Chapter 2 (1.20 Attaching the Front Bezel) to put the front bezel back.
Important
If you dispose of the removed hard disk drive, follow instructions
described in Chapter 1 (1. Transfer, Movement, and Disposal) in
"Maintenance Guide".
Note
If you remove a failed hard disk drive, check the DISK LED lit in amber.
