Description of Unit
Based on the signs of A and R the microprocessor can allocate the reactive
energy to the four quadrants.
• Reactive energy in quadrant I: +Ri
• Reactive energy in quadrant II: +Rc
• Reactive energy in quadrant III: –Ri
• Reactive energy in quadrant IV: –Rc

Various signal sources can be used to select the required tariff. Tariff
control may be performed:
• Externally by the three input control signals E1, E2, E3 (with selectable
control voltage ranges: 24 V up to 230 V; the control voltage must be
specified by the customer)
• Internally by the calendar clock and the time switch
• By event signals based on threshold values of the monitoring functions,
e.g. frequency, voltage
Signals from the various signal sources can be combined to realise a
sophisticated tariff structure.
