Description of Unit
Opto-couplers provide the galvanic isolation and protect the electronic
circuits of the meter from interference, which could otherwise enter via the
control inputs.

The meter has following outputs:
• Single line, 8-digit liquid crystal display (LCD) with back light for local
reading of billing data and load profile data and additional information,
such as energy flow, type of energy, presence of phase voltages and
identification numbers
• Optical test outputs (green LEDs) for either active and reactive energy

• Alarm output (relay and LED)
• Up to 8 transmitting contacts with selectable signal assignment on the
transmitting contacts board (static relays)
• Optical interface for the download of parameterisation data and for local
data acquisition by a suitable data acquisition unit (e.g. lap-top
computer)
• Local serial interface RS485 for the daisy-chain connection between the
individual meters
• Various communication interfaces (e.g. RS485, RS232, modem) for the
transfer of billing data and load profile data to the central station.
