(3) Coolant Temperature Sensor

Engine Oil Pressure Switch Continuity
1. Measure the resistance with an ohmmeter across the switch
terminal and the chassis.
2. If 0 Ω is not indicated in the normal state, the switch is damaged.
3. If infinity is not indicated at pressure over 49 kPa (0.50 kgf/cm
7.1 psi), the switch is damaged.

Coolant Temperature Sensor
1) Lead Terminal Voltage
1. Disconnect the lead from the coolant temperature sensor after
turning the key switch OFF.
2. Turn the key switch ON and measure the voltage with a
voltmeter across the lead terminal and the chassis. If the
voltage differs from the battery voltage, the wiring harness fuse
or coolant temperature gauge is damaged.

2) Sensor Continuity
1. Measure the resistances with an ohmmeter across the sensor
terminal and the chassis.
2. If the reference value is not indicated, the sensor is damaged.
