Configuring Storage Settings

Procedure
1. Management group name—Enter the name of the management group. The available storage is
virtualized within the management group. The management group contains the storage pool.
2. Storage pool name—Enter the name of the storage pool. The storage pool virtualizes all the usable
storage available on the storage devices, making one large pool available to the volumes.
3. Storage pool Virtual IP address (VIP)—Enter the storage pool VIP. The VIP provides a single IP
address that can reach the management interface regardless of controller failures and will make
upgrades easier.
4. Storage system name— Enter the name assigned to the storage system.

Creating a Default Volume

Creating a volume allows you to more quickly start serving I/Os. Additional volumes can be created later.
Procedure
• Leave at the default, No, to skip this step.
• Select Yes to create a default volume.

Setting Remote Support

Remote support allows the system to report its status and system information to HPE. This information
could be used as a baseline for future support cases if necessary.
Procedure
1. Remote support level
Leave at the default, Passive, to allow the system to report information to HPE.
2. Company name
Enter your company name.
3. Customer contact name/email/phone number/country
Enter appropriate contact information. Normally this is the contact information for the StoreVirtual
Storage system administrator.
4. Allow contact from HPE and partners
This feature has not yet been fully implemented. To configure Remote Support, certain settings are
required. Remote Support monitors your system and reports its status to Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
For proactive support, contact your HPE Representative about a support contract.

Setting a Proxy

If a proxy server will be used, enter the proxy parameters.
