Load balancing
Load balancing enables the network resources to spread between two or more network
interfaces to optimize network transfer and enhance system performance. It
operates on layer 3 protocol (IP, NCP IPX) only. Multicast/ broadcast and other
non-routable protocols, e.g. NetBEUI, can only be transferred via the main network
port.
Note: To optimize the network transfer speed of the VioStor in load balancing mode,
please use a managed Ethernet switch and enable 802.3ad (or link aggregation) on
the ports of the switch that the Giga LAN ports of the VioStor are connected to.
