Using a G9SP-series Safety Controller with an Older Unit Version
If the unit version of the G9SP-series Safety Controller is old, select the hardware that matches the version of
the connected Controller on the Hardware Settings Dialog Box on the G9SP Configurator.
Example: G9SP-series Controller with unit version 1.1
G9SP Configurator version 2.00
Version 2.00 of the G9SP Configurator supports G9SP-series Safety Controllers with unit version
1.1. You can perform configuration for the range of functions that are supported by unit version 1.1
of the G9SP-series Safety Controllers.
G9SP Configurator Configuration Data Compatibility
You can use configuration data that was created on G9SP Configurator version 1.00 or 1.10 on G9SP Configu-
rator version 2.00. You can also change configuration data that was created for unit version 1.1 of the G9SP-
series Safety Controller to configuration data for unit version 2.0 of the G9SP-series Safety Controllers by set-
ting the unit version to 2.0 for the same model of G9SP-series Safety Controller on the Hardware Settings Dia-
log Box on G9SP Configurator version 2.00.
You cannot convert configuration data that was created for unit version 2.0 of the G9SP-series
Safety Controllers for use on G9SP-series Safety Controllers with unit version 1.1.
Unit Version Operations on the G9SP Configurator
Whether G9SP Configurator operations are possible for different unit versions of the G9SP-series Safety Con-
troller is given in the following table. Use this table to confirm applicability if you want to reuse existing configu-
ration data. In all cases, the G9SP-series model must be the same.

Note (1) Refer to Function Additions and Changes for Unit Version Upgrades in the appendices for informa-
tion on new functions.
(2) If you upload the data using online operations, the hardware setting for the version (version 1 or 2)
will match the unit version of the connected G9SP-series Safety Controller.
(3) Versions 1.00 and 1.10 of the G9SP Configurator do not support G9SP-series Safety Controllers
with unit version 2.0. Therefore, online operations cannot be performed.
(4) Online operations cannot be performed because the configuration uses new functions that are not
supported by unit version 1.0 or 1.1 of the G9SP-series Safety Controllers. If the configuration is
changed so that new functions are not used, online operation will become possible.
