    6. Ethernet FINS Connection Procedure This section describes the procedure for connecting NSJ to the G9SP via Ethernet FINS. 6.1. Setting up the NSJ and Ethernet Communication Unit Set up the PLC and Ethernet Communication Unit. 6.1.1. Hardware Settings Set the hardware switches on the PLC and Ethernet Unit. Precautions for Correct Use Make sure that the Power Supply is OFF when you perform the setting up.

    6.1.2. Creating the I/O Table and Setting the IP Address If the operating mode of the PLC is Run Mode or Monitor Mode, change to Program Mode by following the steps below. (1) Select Operating Mode - Program from the PLC Menu of the CX-Programmer.

    6.2. G9SP Software Communication Setup In G9SP Configurator, choose the model of G9SP by dragging the model number over to the first box and Select Finish. Double click System Settings...

    6.4. Checking the Ethernet FINS Communications Confirm the Ethernet FINS commands are operating normally. 6.4.1. Checking the Connection Status Check the connection status of Ethernet FINS. Confirm that COMM is lit yellow and there no ERR light on the G9SP CIF40 Ethernet Option Board.

    7. Appendix 7.1. Understanding G9SP Ethernet FINS Commands The G9SP requires a specific set of commands that differ from traditional FINS commands (see G9SP Series Safety Controller Cat Z922 section 7-3). The G9SP cannot be assigned a network address in CX-Integrator. The G9SP can only use its own network. In this application, the NSJ has DeviceNet and FINS communication hardware available.
