In-car MVX1000 System Components

The MVX1000 system may include the following components (see
• MVX1000 Unit: An advanced digital video recorder for capture, storage and retrieval of video,
audio and related metadata on a removable Solid-State Drive (SSD) memory device. The
MVX1000 is controlled by a Mobile Digital Video Recorder (mDVR) User Interface Application that
runs on a Mobile Workstation or Mobile Laptop or by the LCD Control Head. The MVX1000 also
serves as a client/server unit that communicates by wired or wireless LAN with the docking station
for uploading the evidence files and downloading software updates.
• Front/Rear View Camera: A high resolution, zoom-controlled color camera. The camera is used
for recording video outside the vehicle. Up to three such cameras can be used in a vehicle to
capture the view from the front, side and rear windows of the vehicle.
• Motorcycle Camera: A high resolution, fix zoom color camera. The camera is used for recording
video when installed on motorcycle.
• Passenger Camera: A compact camera with fixed wide angle lens and a smart Infrared (IR)
capability for low light video recording. The camera is used to capture activity in the back seat area
of the vehicle under any lighting conditions.
• Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Antenna: Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) diversity
antenna for wirelessly uploading recorded video instances and metadata evidence files to the back
office server.
• GPS Antenna: The MVX1000 includes an internal GPS receiver. The unit uses received signals
from satellites to determine the accurate location of the vehicle and for time tracking. The GPS
readings are part of the metadata files that complement the video events stored in the MVX1000.
• Wireless Microphone: A Wireless Microphone is an audio transmitter that enables a police officer
to record sound within range of the vehicle. The Wireless Microphone can also be used to remotely
trigger recording (recording is stopped using the mDVR User Interface Application). The
microphone is docked to a Charging Cradle mounted inside the vehicle. Up to two Wireless
Microphones can be simultaneously connected to the MVX1000 system.
• Wired Cabin Microphone: A Wired Cabin Microphone can be used within the vehicle to record
voice and ambient audio inside the vehicle.
• MW810 Mobile Workstation or Mobile Laptop: A computer running the mDVR User Interface
Application. The computer communicates with the MVX1000 via data cable connection. The
MW810 includes an optional 12.1" touch screen with a built-in speaker.
• Crash Sensor: An optional Crash Sensor is used for triggering camera(s) recording upon sensing
a crash impact.
• Mobile DC Un-interruptible Power Supply (UPS): the Mobile DC UPS is a backup power system
that provides temporary power to the MVX1000 system when the vehicle's power is low or during
intermittent loss of power.
• Radar Unit (customer provided): An optional connection to a radar unit.
• LCD Control Head: A controller with a 5 inch touch screen for operating the MVX1000. The
controller communicates with the MVX1000 mDVR unit by cable connection.
