6. Software Control - Using Lightware Device Controller
Step 3. Select the unit from the discovered Ethernet devices. Double click on the name of the extender or
select the device and click on the green Connect button.
If your device is connected to the computer via serial link, select Serial Devices tab. Click on the Query
button next to the desired serial port to display the name of the device and serial number. Double
click on the receiver or select the device and click on the green Connect button.

Main menu
The available menu items are displayed. The active one is shown with dark grey
background color.

Information
It shows the device label which can be edited in the Settings menu - Status tab, for
ribbon

Submenu
Each tile represents an input port. The tile below the port shows the current
selector
crosspoint setting; if the port is switched to the output, the color of the tile is white,
otherwise it is grey.

Input ports
Click on the port to open the Port properties window.

Connections
Light grey square means the port is available but there is no connection between
the input and the output. White square means there is a connection between the
input and the output port.

Advanced
Click on the button to display the Advanced view page. It shows the Terminal
view
window and the LW3 protocol tree.

Output ports
Click on the port to open the Port properties window.
