6. Check the seal-chamber cover lock runout:
a) Mount the dial indicator on the shaft.
b) Rotate the shaft so that the indicator rides along the seal-chamber cover lock for 360°.

NOTICE:
setting the clearance or not following any of the proper procedures can result in sparks,
unexpected heat generation, and equipment damage.
7. Check the seal-chamber cover wear-ring runout:
a) Mount the dial indicator on the shaft.

If the total indicator reading is greater than 0.005 in. (0.13 mm), determine the cause
and correct it.
