17.2 Bootloader update
The bootloader can only updated when the lock firmware is running (thus not in bootloader mode).

From bootloader mode
Press any key

Start firmware upload
On the maintenance unit press 'Send
firmware'
Description/Operation
Ready maintenance unit
Start the E-Plex 5900 application
Select the 'FW update' option
Set the lock in communication mode.
From construction mode
Enter keypad programming mode by
typing '#' key followed by PIN and '#':
#XXXXXXXX#
Enter communication mode by typing:
900#

From access mode
Start keypad programming mode
Press '#' key

The communication with the maintenance
unit must be established within 15 seconds
The green led blinks with high pitch sound to
confirm and then red and green blink in
sequence to indicate communication mode
is activated.
The communication with the maintenance
unit must be established within 15 seconds
Firmware updates takes nearly 4 minutes.
The progress bar will display how much data
is transferred.
Once completed, a 'done' message will be
displayed on the maintenance unit. The lock
is now in firmware mode and ready for use.
Should the lock reply with an 'Invalid
bootloader', the bootloader must first be
updated.
