6.8 Fixed range markers

Up to three fixed range markers may be positioned on the
display. The markers are used for measuring bearing or distance
from the vessel to other objects in the chart.
A marker can also be set by tapping the Tools menu followed by
one of the Fixed Range Marker commands, or by tapping the
F8
key on the keyboard.
If a COP30 is included in the system, a fixed ranger marker
could be positioned by tapping the
When the function is activated, a line will be drawn from the
vessel center to the cursor position. An information window
showing range and bearing from vessel center to cursor position
will be opened in the lower right corner of the display.
The range marker will be fixed at the cursor position by pressing
the left cursor key.
When fixed markers are active, this will be indicated with a tick
in the Tools menu. The marker and the information window will
remain in the display until this tick is removed.
