All units in the CS system are "repair by replacement" units, and
the operator is therefore required to perform only a very limited
amount of preventive maintenance.
Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to avoid damage to the
keys and the panel. If required, clean the keys and panel with a
non-abrasive cloth moistened with mild soap solution.
The connectors should be checked by visual inspection only.
Push the connector plugs into the connector. If the connector
plugs are equipped with a lock, ensure that this is in correct
position.
If the filter (normally white colored) is discolored (gray), it
should be vacuum cleaned in place. If the filter is very
contaminated, it should be replaced.
1
Lift the fan filter cover at one corner using your finger tips
and pull it outwards.
2
Remove the dust filter using fingertips or a screwdriver
tip.
3
Insert a clean dust filter into the fan filter cover.
4
Refit the fan filter cover by snapping it onto the fan
housing.
The Chart Symbols window includes a color test area to enable
the mariner to detect the stage at which the display can no
longer be used to discriminate important features by color.
Use the following procedure to display the color test area:
1
Make sure that the ChartletsBase database is registered.
