5.6 Positioning the chart on the screen

Follow ship function
When the ship symbol key is tapped, the system will
automatically keep the vessel in the center of the display, either
with True, Relative or Scroll motion. Refer
Chart layout on the display, page 43.
The vessel's symbol will remain in the display center as long as
the key is activated.
The Follow ship function may also be selected by tapping the
key on the optional COP30.
OWN SHIP
Panning to cursor position
To view areas of the chart that are not within the current chart
limits, an adjacent area will be displayed by moving the cursor
to a selected position and pressing the middle cursor key.
The chart will be moved and centered about the selected cursor
position.
Moving the chart center
The Move View To menu makes it possibility to move the chart
to a known position, to current vessel position, to a chart or to a
preplanned route as described in the following sections.
The Move View To menu will not be available if the Follow ship
function is active.
To a known position
Tap the Move View To menu followed by the Position
command to open the Move View To Position dialog.
Enter coordinates for latitude and longitude for the position that
is to be the new chart center, and confirm by tapping OK.
