Activating and deactivating AFC
Caution: Danger to the tool and workpiece!
As soon as you deactivate the AFC function, the control
immediately switches to the programmed machining feed rate.
If the AFC function decreased the feed rate (e.g. due to wear)
before it was deactivated, the control accelerates the feed rate
up to the programmed value. This applies regardless of the
method used for deactivating the function (soft key, feed rate
potentiometer, etc.). This acceleration may result in damages to
the tool or the workpiece!
If it is imminent that the feed rate falls below the FMIN value,
stop the machining operation (instead of deactivating the AFC
function)
Define the overload reaction for cases in which the feed rate
falls below the FMIN value
Operating mode: Press the Program run, full
sequence soft key
Shift the soft-key row
To activate the adaptive feed control: Set the soft
key to ON—the control displays the AFC symbol
in the position display
Further information:
To deactivate the adaptive feed control: Set the
soft key to OFF
