Programming Contours | Fundamentals of path functions
Example – programming a straight line
Initiate the programming dialog, e.g. for a
straight line
COORDINATES?
Enter the coordinates of the straight-line end
point, e.g. -20 in X
COORDINATES?
Enter the coordinates of the straight-line end
Y
point, e.g. 30 in Y, and confirm with the ENT key
Radius comp.: RL/RR/no comp.?
Select the radius compensation (here, press
the R0 soft key—the tool moves without
compensation)
Feed rate F=? / F MAX = ENT
Enter 100 (feed rate e.g. 100 mm/min; for
programming in inches: an input of 100
corresponds to a feed rate of 10 inches/min) and
confirm your entry with the ENT key, or
Move at rapid traverse: Press the FMAX soft key,
or
Traverse with the feed rate defined in the
block: Press the F AUTO soft key.
CALL
MISCELLANEOUS FUNCTION M?
Enter 3 (miscellaneous function e.g. M3) and
terminate the dialog with the END key
