Dividing VLANs According to Traffic Requirements
For greatest efficiency, make sure that the VLANs are split according to
traffic requirements, as shown in Figure 3, which may not necessarily be
along functional lines. For example, the heaviest use of your network may
be between your servers, with only a small amount of traffic between
each of the desktop hosts and the servers. In this case, it is sensible to
place your servers on one VLAN, and your users on another.
