Replacing the Server Module and 10G LAN Module

Replace a server module only when it is faulty.

Replacement
Follow the steps below to replace the server module.
1. Refer to steps 1 to 3 in Chapter 5 (1.2 Overview of Replacing Modules) for preparations.
2. Locate the server module you are going to replace.
Important
• You must avoid static electricity to work with the procedure below. For details,
refer to Handling precautions (for anti-static measures).
• Use only a server module authorized by NEC.
Important
This server is equipped with four covers to cool the inside.
Remove the cover to replace the module of the slot. Replace the cover promptly and
install the cover in the original position (rough indication to replace the cover: 30
seconds or less).
Leaving the cover removed or unattended may reduce the cooling efficiency and
cause an unexpected trouble.
