Chapter 2 Installation and connection
1)
Terminal for initial setup
Used to configure the internal switches of the
server. A generic terminal emulator must be
installed in the terminal in advance.
(2) USB cable
Used to connect the server to the terminal for
initial setup.
One USB cable is provided with the server.
Before connecting the USB cable, connect the
AC power cable to the server and wait at least
one minute.
(3) Terminal for logging
This is used to collect OS log of server
modules built-in the server.
(4) TFTP server
This server stocks OS boot file or BIOS update
tool for PXE boot.
(5) DHCP server (for DATA LAN)
This is used to allocate an IP address to the
LAN controller loaded on each module of
DX2000.
DHCP server setting is required in advance to
allocate an IP address of DX2000 from the
DHCP server.
(6) Server for OS install
Use to install OS to each server module.
(7) Hub or switching Hub (for data)
Used to relay the connection between the
server and network.
(8) Network cables
LAN cables used to connect to the
management terminal.
-a: Connect to management network.
-b: Connect to data network.
Note the following precautions to connect cables.
Fix the power cord or interface cables on the cable arm that comes with this server by using cable ties.
Make sure that no pressure is applied on the plug of the power cord.

2. Preparations and connecting peripheral devices
The terminal to start Linux(x64) OS
ipmitool must be installed in advance so that
remote IPMI commands can be issued. Copy
the server management utility saved in the
DX2000 Utility Disk.
Used to start the management tool or install
This is used to allocate IP addresses (number
of implemented server modules x 2 + 4) to the
management controller on each server of
DX2000. You need to configure the DHCP
server in advance to allocate the IP address of
DX2000 from the DHCP server.
Used to relay the connection between the
server and management terminal.
