Rating Plugs
Power+™ trip u n it rating plug
A new interchangeable rating plug i s used in the Power+™
tri p unit across the entire Power Break® I I breaker product
l ine. Rating plugs are the key devices that establish the cur­
rent rating of the breaker. They provide an essential sca ling
function for the unit's microprocessor, and ensure m aximum
accuracy. They a lso provide an externa l jack for connection
to an externa l battery pack, or TVRMSZ test kit .
Rating plugs have rejection features that a l low them t o b e
inserted only with breakers containing the correct current
sensors. Rating plugs for the Power+ tri p unit cannot be used
with Spectra RMSTM molded case circuit breakers or with
MicroVersaTrip Plus™ and MicroVersaTrip PM™ trip units. See
Table 13.1 below.

Current Sensors

Typical toroidally wound sensor
Toroidally wound current sensors are furnished for all major
protective functions, and for use with Power+™ and Micro­
VersaTrip PM tri p units. Current sensors are factory installed
and are not changea ble in the field. There are 11 current
ratings for the Power Break I I breaker l ine through 4000
a m ps. See Table 13.1 for current ratings. Rating plugs must
be coordinated with the current sensor rating (S) listed on the
face of the rating plug.
