In dependence of the casters' diameter and setting as well as the setting of the wheelchair's center
of gravity the casters might flutter when driving at higher speeds. This can lead to blocking of the
casters and cause the wheelchair to tip over.
For this reason make sure the casters are correctly adjusted (see section "Adjustability").
Especially on slopes, do not drive without braking and reduce your speed.
Attention!
For the time being, Otto Bock has not yet released the product Avantgarde Teen 2 for
use as a seat in motor vehicles!
Until Otto Bock has released the Avantgarde Teen 2 for use as a seat for transportation
in motor vehicles, wheelchair users must always transfer to the seats installed in the
motor vehicle with the corresponding vehicle restraint systems! Non-observance of these
instructions could lead to injury of the wheelchair user, as well as of all other passengers
in the motor vehicle, in case of an accident.
You can receive information on the current state of our measures from your dealer or on the Otto Bock
homepage www.ottobock.de.

7 Delivery / Preparing the Wheelchair for Use

The wheelchair is usually delivered completely assembled and folded.
Three simple steps prepare it for use:
• When folding or unfolding the wheelchair, hold it only at the indicated positions (otherwise there is risk of
injury).
• Loosen the safety strap. While standing to the side of the wheelchair, tip it slightly toward you, and press on
the edge of the seat closest to you. The wheelchair will unfold up to its seat width (Fig. 1).
• Flip the footplate down (Fig. 2).
