Setting the caster wheel journal angle (Fig. 43, Fig. 44)
After the rear wheels have been mounted in the appropriate position, the caster wheel journal angle must be
readjusted.
The caster adapter should be as horizontal as possible in relation to the ground to ensure optimal driving behav-
ior of the wheelchair. The caster adapter allows you continuous angle adjustment.
• First, remove the protective caps (Fig. 43, item B) from the caster adapters. Next, loosen the two cap screws
(Fig. 44, item C) on the inside and then the cap screw (Fig. 43, item D) on the outside. Place the level from the
tool pouch on the caster adapter (Fig. 44).
• Using a large screwdriver, screw the eccentric disk so that the caster adapter moves into horizontal position.
When in this position, first tighten the cap screw (Fig. 43, item D) followed by the cap screws (Fig. 43, Fig. 44,
item C).
• Make sure that the cap screws are firmly re-tightened. The correct torque for the Avantgarde Teen 2, models T
and VR, is 23 Nm.
Adjusting the angle of the footplate Avantgarde Teen 2 T and VR (Fig. 45)
An angle adjustable footplate is included as standard equipment.
• Loosen the hexagon socket head screw at the rear suspension of the footplate with several turns of the
wrench (Fig. 45). Adjust the footplate to the desired position and firmly re-tighten the screw.

Adjusting the height of the footrest Avantgarde Teen 2 T (Fig. 46)
• By loosening the screw at the footrest bar, the footplate can be continuously adjusted according to your spe-
cific lower leg length and to the seat cushion you use.
• Note: Loosen the screw – do not completely remove the screw. There are two threaded holes in the footrest
bar. Depending on the desired adjustment, however, it may be necessary to completely remove the screw and
use the second hole.
